MEAL: Marinated Chicken or Lemon Baked Tilapia, Rice Pilaf, Peas & Carrots, Fruit Jell-O, and Cheeseburger Soup

PRESIDENT’S COMMENTS: Wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and that you have a SAFE and MERRY TIME with your Friends and Families. I am looking forward to our Christmas gathering to see all your faces. Unfortunately, ART Ramirez had an accident and broke his ankle and is laid up and undergoing convalescence at Kenwood View Health and Rehabilitation Center. He is in room 20. Our Prayers go out for him.  We will update you all on what is happening and what we will be doing about the issues that we bring up don’t worry none of it is new. Hope to see you all, and as usual, you don’t have to pay (member and spouse) for the meal just as it has been in the past.   Plus, we will have a Drawing surprise, come and see what it is.

REMINDER: TRICARE Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) OPEN SEASON enrollment ends DECEMBER 10TH.

ARE YOU READY?  Cold Weather Tips - Stay indoors during the storm, walk carefully on snowy and icy walkways, avoid overexertion when shoveling snow (going at it too hard can bring on a heart attack − a leading cause of death in the winter), get car and home furnace serviced, change the batteries in fire and carbon monoxide alarms.

 

NOVEMBER MEETING TIDBITS: Attendance drawing – Shirley Wagner won a $20 gift certificate. The chapter will donate $25 to the Salina Salvation Army.  Guest speakers were Karen Staatz (Owner/CEO) and Amy Crouse (Supervisor, Heart to Heart, Home Health Care LLC in Salina, talked about the services that Heart to Heart provides to seniors and answered questions. They conducted a drawing for free care service in which Nelson Newell won. Fred Manning presented Staatz and Crouse with a chapter Certificate of Appreciation.   Secretary Bill Vinyard spoke about the upcoming open season FEDVIP enrollment (November 12 to December 10), the different dental and vision programs, made available copies of thevarious plans and list of telephone numbers for the Dental and Vision companies and Office of Personnel Management. He advised members to compare the proposals and select the one that suits their needs. Also, he answered questions. The membership voted to purchase a new chapter Flag from TREA.
