ACTING SECRETARY COMMENTS:
The 2024-chapter officers: President – Gary Keil (Army Veteran) will do another term, new Vice-President – Ronald Sondergard (Navy Veteran), Treasurer – Roger Thull (Army National Guard Veteran) will do another term, and the Secretary position is vacant. I will continue to do the Secretary's duties until someone steps forward. Special appointees Moses Stewart (Chaplain), William Quinley (Sergeant of Arms), and Vickie Guillot (Website Administrator) will all remain. We thank outgoing Vice-President Jason Bathon (Navy Veteran) for exhibiting brilliant leadership and organizational skills for our fundraiser events that enriched our finances. We thank the "OF FREE WILLDONATIONS” givers for their support in 2023. Thus, 2023 was a good year for our Chapter.
Once more, we have survived and remain the only TREA chapter in Kansas.
BIRTHDAYS IN DECEMBER:
Fred & Tammy Fanning. Happy birthday to you all! Let us know if you have a birthday this month.
WELLNESS:
Dorothy Armster, Shirley Wagner, and Rachel Holt Fikes. Keep them in your prayers. Roger Thull is receiving treatment for prostate cancer. Please pray that he will overcome this illness.
MEETING/CHRISTMAS LUNCH:
Our lunch is our holiday get-together. The Chapter will give members & spouse who attends $5.00 toward their lunch. Also, there will be FIVE $20 gift card drawings. SO PLEASE JOIN US!
NEW MEMBERS:
We welcome aboard David Larson (SFC Army Retiree), Salina, KS, and Shaun Carlson (GySgt Marines Retiree), McPherson, KS. We recruited them at Central Mall at the Veteran's Day Fair on November 11.
NOVEMBER MEETING TIDBITS:
Cayla Sondergard was the attendance drawing winner ($20 gift card). Jeff Hammond, Director of the Salina Parks and Recreation Department, was the guest speaker and updated us on some of the completed enhancements to Salina Parks and future projects. Chaplain Moses Stewart presented J. Hammond with a Certificate of Appreciation. Secretary W. Vinyard gave the Chapter's November financial report a check account balance of $5003.71.
MEMBER UPDATE:
Ronald and Betty Brown have moved from Pottsboro to Denison, TX. Ron is a life member of TREA. Recently, they sold their house and moved into Wesley Village Retirement Facility. Their address is 2800 Loy Lake Rd Apt 407, Denison TX 75020, telephone number 785-342-9919. They are doing well and send their regards.
