PRESIDENT’s COMMENTS: The upcoming chapter Raffle drawing for a TV is on March 8th at our Membership Meeting. Now for those of you, who may be having questions. First, the payment of the $30.00 for ten tickets was to generate funds to cover the purchase of a TV from Walmart. Ticket prices for a chance to win a 55-inch UHD (7 series) Samsung Smart TV are one ticket for $5.00, three tickets for $10.00, and eight tickets for $20.00. The price range is for each of you to use as you sell the tickets. You do not need to prepay for the tickets; however, as you sell each ticket, please record the ticket number and turn-in the filled ticket or tickets along with the collected cash/check to Roger Thull. Roger is maintaining Records of each transaction, that way at the Drawing we all will know who won and who sold that ticket. You can turn-in ticket/ tickets along with your cash collected for the drawing at our coffee gathering or our meetings (Monthly). Coffee is in the West Wing of Bayard’s Cafe around noontime. As planned, this is one of our Chapter fundraisers for 2019 and to increase the funds in our Checking Account so we can ensure another successful year of operation. In 2018, we celebrated by giving out cash and gift cards at our Christmas Dinner. SO let's ALL SELL SOME TICKETS OR BUY THEM FOR OUR FAMILIES, MOST OF ALL let's HAVE SOME FUN. Your support is much appreciated. Your President Richard (Dick) Trow. THANK YOU ALL.

In its Options for Reducing the Deficit: 2019 to 2028, the CBO laid out 121 opportunities for curtailing spending and raising revenue. These include raising Tricare enrollment fees for military retirees, instituting enrollment fees for Tricare for Life and reducing veterans’ benefits. (Source Military.com)

VA NEW CLAIMS APPEALS PROCESS: The Department of Veterans Affairs has announced that a new procedure for appealing disability claims decisions will begin Feb. 19, 2019. The new system, known as the Rapid Appeals Modernization Program (RAMP), is touted by the VA as a major improvement in the claims appeals process. It is meant to fix the dismal delays veterans face when appealing the VA's decisions on disability claims. This new program was mandated by Public Law 115-55, The Veterans Appeals Improvement and Modernization Act of 2017. Read more about the new process at www.Military.com.
