Several events are planned, the first event was on Feb 27th at 6:30 in the Prescott Room of the Library, a Memoir Writing Workshop for Veterans. An English Teacher from Lenexa will do the workshop. It is important that we write down our experiences for the future generations, our Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Other events include an Art Exhibit from March 16 to April 13 by Vietnam artist Jim Nelson. There will be an Art Reception with Jim on March 22.  On March 26th, a Community Conversation about the Vietnam War. Panelists will be Pastor Loren Houltberg, a Vietnam Veteran, Dr. Anita Specht, Professor of History at Kansas Wesleyan, and myself, a Vietnam Veteran in 1967. Oral Histories will also be recorded for the Library of Congress. Our next Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) meeting on March 17, I plan to invite Barbara Mulvihill of the Library to visit with us and open the meeting up to the public. Members will be receiving a newsletter with meeting information. Nonmembers should contact me (namvet67@cox.net), and there will also be something in the Salina Journal prior to that date.
