The November 8th meeting will be our Veteran’s Day Dinner at the Carver Center at 315 N. 2

here in Salina. The dinner will be held from 6:00-

8:00 PM. If you don’t have a ticket, you can buy

them at the door.

If you've experienced any problems that you

haven't been able to resolve by talking with

your VA health care team there is help. The

patient advocates at VA Wichita health care are

specially trained to help you resolve these

issues. Reach out to one of our patient

From the Secretary. Thank you for letting me

serve as your secretary. I consider an honor. I am

grateful for Bill Vinyard for fulfilling this duty for

16 years. We owe him a debt we cannot repay.

Tidbits from October’s meeting. We had a lot of

discussion about our Veteran’s Day Dinner. I was

sworn in as Secretary. We circulated a thank you

card for Ella Gier’s family for the donation. Taft

Yates gave us an update of all the wonderful

things going on in Ellis and Hays. Roger Thull,

treasurer, gave us a report

Events you might be interested in:

• Each Monday the VFW Post 1432 in Salina

has a burgers in the lounge from 6:00 -7:00

PM for $10.

• Each Thursday the VFW Post 1432 in Salina

has a meal for the public from 6:00 -7:00 pm

for $10 or $12.

• The VFW in Hays Post 9076 is holding their

Stars and Stripes Breakfast. The event is

November 10th and monies raised go

towards Veterans programs.

• Saline County Senior Services veterans

event and honor walk will be November 9 at

8:30 – 11:15 AM. Eight vendors on site for

veterans and families with prizes. Poem read

by veteran Tom Basgall. An honor walk for

veterans around the Senior Services building

with dozens of flags on the south end.

• Salina Tech Veterans Day event will be

November 10 at 9:30 AM. They will have a

color guard from the Kansas National

Guard's Regional Training Institute will raise

the flag in front of Salina Area Technical

College’s Building A, followed by the Pledge

of Allegiance, singing of the National

Anthem and firing a ceremonial cannon.

veterans and their families by reservation

only made through

• There will be a Veterans Parade in downtown

Salina on November 11 at 9:00 AM hosted by

Interim HealthCare of Salina. The parade

route is downtown Salina, along Santa Fe

Avenue from Elm Street to South Street.

• The VFW Post 1432 and other veteran's

organizations will host a Veterans Day

ceremony at Salina-Saline County War

Memorial on November 11 that starts at

11:00 AM. This will be at the Salina-Saline

County War Memorial at Sunset Park, 700

Sunset Drive
